Pursers Coaches – About Us

At Pursers Coaches we strive to provide you with comfortable and friendly travel around South East Queensland and Australia.

We employ professional, trained staff and operate a modern fleet of 46 buses and coaches ranging in capacity from 21 – 70 seats.
Pursers Coaches provides Public Transport services within the South Burnett Regional Council area, run over 20 school bus contracts a week and proudly runs coaches to Caboolture from Murgon and return 5 days a week.
Our large fleet of buses and coaches allows us the means and capacity to cater for any size group within Queensland and can accommodate other interstate travel requirements upon request.

Pursers Coaches is an accredited operator under the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Act 1994. All fleet operations of Pursers Coaches comply with the Queensland Transport & Main Roads regulations.

Licences
All of our drivers hold the appropriate current Heavy Vehicle Driver’s Licences as well as Queensland Driver’s Authorisations to drive and operate a public passenger vehicle under the regulation of the national work diary.

Insurances
Pursers Coaches has all the appropriate insurances to ensure that our employees, customers and associates are in safe hands.

History
Pursers Coaches was originally founded in 1967 by Mick Purser, after the acquisition of runs and vehicles from Peterson of Murgon. Mick Purser operated Purser’s Coaches until 1996, when the operation was sold to H.K., M.F. & A.K. Dascombe, who kept the Purser’s name.

Acquired the (S226) Cherbourg to Murgon State High School run from Cherbourg Aboriginal Mission, Cherbourg during 1996, with vehicle 150 EPU.
Acquired the (P150) Coolabunia Area to Coolabunia State School, (P1582) Railway Road to Taabinga State School and another local Kingaroy run (since amalgamated) from the F.J. & C.J. Dundas, Kingaroy during April 2002, with vehicles 522 CGO, 925 ISK and 523 CGO.
Acquired the (S7) Wondai to Kingaroy State High School run from J.W. & D.M. Murphy, Kingaroy circa 2005, with vehicle 678 PNC.
Acquired the (S447) Hillview to Kingaroy State High School run from S.F. & C.M. Davis circa 2008, with vehicle 637 JIJ.
Acquired the (P1168) Cinnabar to Kilkivan State School run from W.J. & P.J. McDonald, Kilkivan during 2010, with vehicle 992 IKF.
Acquired runs Kingaroy Town to Kingaroy State School, (P183) Wattle Camp Road to Kingaroy State School, (S509) Redvale to Kingaroy State High School and (P1734) Harch’s Road to Kingaroy State School runs from Kingaroy Bus Lines, Kingaroy during July 2010, with vehicles 297 DMK, 048 LLH and a later delivered Daewoo 911 RFH – originally ordered by Kingaroy Bus Lines.
